The second season of Hulu’s The Kardashians premiered this week, and the first episode was apparently about Khloe Kardashian welcoming her second child via surrogacy. I’m going off of reporting and summaries of the episode – I’m not watching this show. There was footage from the birth, and Khloe invited Tristan Thompson to come to the hospital after the birth to meet his latest son. Tristan has two other sons – Prince Oliver (with Jordan Craig) and Theo (with Maralee Nichols). We still don’t know the name of Khloe and Tristan’s son and she didn’t reveal anything on the show other than it’s probably a T-name. So Tristan has four children by three women now. Maralee Nichols was pregnant – and about to give birth to Theo – when Khloe and Tristan arranged for the transfer/embryo implantation. That was also discussed in depth on the show:
Now Season 2 of The Kardashians has returned to our screens, we’ve learned all of the details of the surrogacy journey and paternity scandal — including that Tristan was actively pressuring Khloé to go ahead with their baby plans while knowing full well that Maralee was pregnant. During the episode, Khloé revealed that Tristan had found out that Maralee was pregnant on July 2 2021 — a whole four months before their surrogate underwent an embryo transfer around Thanksgiving on Nov. 25.
But just days after the embryo transfer took place, Khloé was hit with the news on Dec. 3 that Tristan was having another child. And Khloé went on to admit that Tristan had actually been “encouraging” her to go ahead with their surrogacy plans and the embryo transfer “by a certain date” — presumably because he knew when his other baby was due to be born.
“All I know is I was being encouraged to do it by a certain date,” Khloé explained during one confessional. “In hindsight, he always knew when the other baby was being born — especially getting the paperwork that we saw, he found out July 2, so he did know.”
And in another telling scene from the show, Kris, Kendall, Kim, and Kylie gathered to discuss the situation, with Kris and Kendall in agreement that Tristan had deliberately talked Khloé in to going ahead with having a second baby in order to “trap” her. During the meeting, Kylie said, “I just don’t like the fact that Tristan knew that this was happening.” Kendall replied, “That’s what’s wild. Like, you were encouraging Khloé to go forward with this while you knew that this was also happening? It’s almost like he wanted to trap her.” Kris Jenner agreed: “Well, he wanted to hang onto her for sure, and thought that maybe if they did that she would marry him.”
To make matters worse, despite there being much speculation that Tristan and Khloé had split for good over the summer of 2021, she made it clear in the episode that they were actually very much still together — and she’d intended to raise their family with “mom and dad” in the “same home.”
“I thought this was a real, healthy, loving, protective relationship,” Khloé said through tears during her confessional.
Khloé went on to explain that she was terrified of the news of their second baby being made public, because of the vitriol she faces online — including being called an “idiot” and a “dumb bitch” — each time Tristan is caught out.
She was also keen to highlight that she had no idea that Maralee was pregnant when she decided to go ahead with the embryo transfer. “We did an embryo transfer days before Thanksgiving,” she said. “I found out about Tristan’s situation the first week of December, and it’s just so close, I wouldn’t want anyone to think I did this after the fact.”
“Why would I have a baby with someone that’s having a baby with someone else?” she added. “I’m not that much of a sociopath. I’m a lunatic but not, like, that deranged.”
Deep sigh… but SHE IS DUMB AS HELL Yes, Tristan is the problem, he’s absolutely a compulsive cheater, liar and psycho, but Tristan wasn’t trying to “trap” her dumb ass. Khloe had already taken him back fully when he was cheating on her constantly and SHE KNEW THAT. Of all the dumbass narratives the Kardashians try to spoon-feed the public, one of the stupidest has always been “Khloe is so naive, she’s always surprised when Tristan cheats on her constantly for years!” He cheated on her constantly during her first pregnancy, he cheated on her constantly when they got back together, and please remember, she made a big deal about how she dumped Tristan again in June 2021 when he cheated on her and didn’t hide it. Then her dumb ass got back together with him last summer, denied getting back with him all summer and fall of 2021, then went ahead with the embryo transfer in November, then suddenly she was shocked all over again a week later? Baby girl, he wasn’t trying to trap your stupid ass.

But it wouldn’t matter if she wasn’t those things. She could still end up in relationships like this. Khloe is happy to be a doormat for Tristan, so a doormat she is. Is he horrible? Yes. But she is as abusive to as he is to the other women who become involved with him.
They’re trying to remake it into Tristen being desperate to stay with her. Nope. He’s just using her for publicity and fame.
In Khloe’s defense (!) it’s worth mentioning just how much Tristan was doing to convince her he’d changed. He was sending gifts and flowers, and attending both individual and couples therapy regularly – where presumably they had lots of ‘honest’ discussions about their relationship. And while going to all that effort, and then agreeing to have another child, he knew someone else was pregnant. Khloe is a flawed person who makes horrible choices, but it’s hard not to feel that there’s something quite abusive about that.
He wanted to marry her, that’s why they say he wanted to trap her. He did everything she asked of him, as you, yet was unable to not cheat on her, repeatedly. I 100% believe he was in it for the lifestyle, which is also the reasin behind him only having time for their children and not ALL of HIS children.

Whilst Khloe may have easily taken him back, it must be horrible when someone is doing all of this for you and really making you feel loved and whatever but you know for some people the draw of having that high of a profile and being surrounded by so much money and privilege with access to so many industries…think that can be said a lot for quite a few of their partners/ exes. Trying to hold on to that lifestyle.
Schenbub, I’m right there with you. You were much more concise than I was in my comment down below. It IS abusive behavior. Tristan was following the classic abusive cycle, lovebombing her and promising he’d change, that this time would be different. She was raised by a narcissistic mother who cheated on her father, and Kris pushed the narrative on her kids that it was just a terrible mistake, that Robert was the love of her life, that she reformed for the right partner, that *cheating is something that can be fixed & overcome with a devoted partner* and *her kids should sympathize with her and support her instead of judging her or holding her accountable for her behavior*. And Khloe was younger than the other girls when it all happened, & when her dad died. It’s no wonder she internalized that so deeply and feels like love means endlessly forgiving and trying to fix the other person while they use you emotionally and financially. Repeating that cycle from her mother with her adult partners isn’t being “dumb as hell.” It’s still abuse.
As I recall, she took up with him when his long term girlfriend was pregnant. She really needs serious therapy to deal with her non-existent self esteem.

He was trying to trap her financially. Aside from what child support he might be able to get from her, he had no interest in being with Khloe. That’s what Kris meant, because Kris always thinks about the money first.
So I do watch the show. Either Khloe is lying to herself or she’s lying to her audience to make Tristan look as bad as possible (baby, you don’t have to put any work into that at all. We know he’s a POS, I promise!). She knew it wasn’t a ‘real healthy, loving, protective relationship.’ She expressed her doubts several times last season. The example that comes to mind first was her refusal to buy her house with him. She just didn’t trust him enough to go through with the legal hassle of that when the inevitable break up happened. Also, I think they gave a timeline of them getting back together and the embryo transfer. It was about 6 months. How did he earn her trust back that quick? I think she wanted a second baby, specifically a boy. She got that. Enjoy parenting and leave the other bs alone.
@ Steph, I don’t watch the show though I appreciate your input. But if Khloe wasn’t willing to buy a house with him, how does that negate having a child with him?? It doesn’t make ANY reasonable, logical or preventive sense when it involves a child.
A child should be her first priority NOT a f#cking house.

I watch the show, and Khloe had Tristan at arm’s length the whole of last season (what that equates to in dog years, I don’t know.) What was clear to anyone with a functioning set of eyes was that she was not into him, at all, but was keeping the lines of communication open for True to have a relationship with her dad, and to also have a storyline. Without Tristan, Khloe doesn’t have a storyline on the show. The second baby is an arrangement I think – there’s this weird thing in this family about having babies with the same sperm donor (to quote Kanye…)
@schenbub No offence but you sound like Khloe here, coz she’s really believing the fictionalised story created for the show too and ignoring reality. Tristan has been publicly single for years now and we’ve all seen the pics of him with various women and that reality matters more that K sending herself gifts or using therapy as a storyline for the show.

Yes, very normal to have a hospital room as an intended parent (IP). The gestational carrier gives birth and then recovers in one room, and the IP has another private room to bond with baby until hospital discharge.

My friends had a hospital room next to the delivery room when their daughter was born by surrogate, but they both sat in chairs to hold the newborn. They didn’t lie in the hospital bed. To each his/her own.
Yeah, lying under the covers like that, wearing pjs and and cosplaying at having given birth is majorly creepy.
And maybe because she was having second thoughts about having another baby with him, or she was trying to look concerned in the photos they released, but she does not look like a woman who is bonding with her baby. Hopefully that’s not the case once she brought him home.
I watched the episode and she honestly looks like she regretted the transfer and couldn’t accept that a baby was coming. Her refusal to even purchase baby clothes was very telling. Hopefully, like you said, things changed the moment she held her son.

Very good point!! Which of these women have had men that love and care for them the way anyone deserves????? Up until Kourtney met Travis, I would say NONE!! They all pick/stay with abusers/cheaters etc. Just goes to show that all that money, fame, surgically enhanced beauty, it still doesn’t mean shit. They are a cautionary tale about love and marriage, if anything else! None of them seem to get it. (I do think Kourtney is happy and seems to have found a good partner in her life finally).

Kourtney also set boundaries with her siblings and Kris, limited her filming, and did a lot of therapy. The fact that she had to draw such a hard line between herself and the constant toxicity of her mom’s ambitions/exploitation/narcissism and her sisters constantly criticizing/scapegoating her before she could set boundaries with Scott and move on says everything about how much Kris is responsible for her older 4 kids being drawn to such abusive, exploitative partners.
AMYB, I was with you up until that last part. I work with abuse survivors every day — every kind of abuse from emotional to financial, spiritual to physical — and even self-confident, well-adjusted women can be victims of charismatic abusers and exploitative people. ANYONE can be. And they’re the least likely to seek help. That’s because they think that if self-confidence and being “well-adjusted” are supposed to prevent being in those relationships, the abuse/cheating/exploitation is somehow their fault. And it’s not. It never is. Khloe is clearly deeply insecure, and Kris has ensured she’s codependent and an ideal supply for a narcissistic partners. She did that with varying success to all 4 of her older kids. But it wouldn’t matter if she wasn’t those things. She could still end up in relationships like this.
I loath the KarJenners on just about every level, but there’s a lot of implicit & explicit victim blaming and inaccurate stereotypes about women and abusive relationships in this comments section as a whole.
You are absolutely correct! I’m sorry I worded it that way! Abusers and liars can manipulate anyone if they are given the chance. The fact is Khloe is very damaged based on her behavior and the choices she has made with men. She needs serious psychotherapy to unpack her childhood and heal; that should be priority number one.

I think the implantation date was likely influenced by the earliest point at which he could take a paternity test for the other child. Get it in before the proof so then you can shrug and be like “Whoops, what can be done??” after the fact.
IF he ever married her, he’d have to be free as a bird and never pledge fidelity. I think he’d also demand no pre-nup, and she, in her good faith and stupidity, would agree to that because their love was a gift from the heavens (though Kris would put the kibosh on that– Kris doesn’t f-ck around about money so I’m sure she’d force a pre-nup). Yes, Khloe would do anything to marry him, in my opinion. I mean, he’d protect her from STD’s and pregnancies with other women if he at least used a condom, but no, he can’t do that either. Yes, he’s a good-looking dude and maybe great in bed, but that’s all he has to give and not even exclusively to her.
